Sclerotherapy:

Effectively treats varicose and spider veins. It’s often considered the treatment of choice for small varicose veins. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein. The sclerotherapy solution causes the vein to scar, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. Sclerotherapy doesn’t require anesthesia and can be done in your doctor’s office. The solution normally used for this procedure is called sodium tetradecyl sulfate (STD) and is available in different concentrations depending on the size of the vein being treated.

Foam sclerotherapy:

Foam sclerotherapy, also known as ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, is a technique for eliminating varicose veins, particularly larger ones. The treatment performed by injecting varicose veins with foam that causes the veins to scar inside, so that they eventually harden, close up, and disappear.

Laser surgeries:

A new technology in laser treatment to close off smaller varicose veins and spider veins. Laser surgery works by sending strong bursts of light onto the vein, which makes the vein slowly fade and disappear.

Catheter method:

The treatment includes inserting a tube into an enlarged vein and heating the tip of the catheter. Heating is done using radiofrequency or laser. The catheter is pulled out and the heat destroys the vein. This method is preferred for larger varicose veins.

High ligation and vein stripping:

This method a vein is tied off and removed to avoid it from joining the deeper vein through small incisions.

Ambulatory phlebectomy:

Ambulatory phlebectomy is an outpatient procedure developed by dermatologic surgeons that remove superficial veins through small, slit-like incisions in the skin.
